Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner

As the London weather somehow managed to win my heart these days, though it’s raining at the moment, my hope and longing for summer is stronger than ever. With the pop culture movements meant to empower us, women, emerging by the second with strong figures such as Beyonce (with Lemonade), it made me think about my favourite phrase that somehow has a similar vibe to all this, well, for me anyways:   “Nobody puts baby in the corner.” That is my favourite sentence from one of my favourite movies of course, Dirty Dancing. Back to the 18th Century

Hello dear readers! Today, we visited Captain Cook’s Cottage in the Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne and got to dress up as 18th century Australians. Captain Cook was the englishman who discovered Australia and his cottage is actually preserved and turned into a museum. We had a lot of fun getting dressed. I think it was pretty amazing and thought I’d share it with ya. The lady was pretty concerned about the way I wore the top over the shoulder since it wasn’t acceptable to “show that much skin”, oh well, I guess I’d be the slut of the house.     I really wanted to steal all of them.  Look to the side and pose like a princess (or a pirate yarrrr).    The braids gave me an afro that I really don’t want to picture.…

Bare Legs, Open Heart

Hello there! The weather in Istanbul is so nice after the PMS-y weather in London. While my parents still think I should have a jacket with me all the time, I think it’s brilliant and almost summery. That’s why I chose to go all bare-legged today! I think spring is a new opportunity for everything, its an era where flowers blossom, sun comes out and new things begin. It’s a time where we should keep out hearts and minds open. We should smell all flowers, stay outside and be nice to everyone. It feels so good to be near the sea after months in London.
